Information on Silver Koala 1 oz High Relief - RAM 2025
Due to its endangered status, this marsupial has been protected since 1937. The name "koala" comes from indigenous Australians and means "no water", as the koala obtains most of the water it needs from eating water-rich eucalyptus leaves. This special collector's coin is limited to a worldwide mintage of only 3,000 pieces. Of the total mintage, only 500 pieces are intended for sale outside Australia.
The design of the silver coin
The obverse side shows two koalas, one larger and one smaller, sitting side by side on a branch. The inscription "KOALA" is also visible. The fine weight "1 oz" and the fineness "999 Ag" are engraved underneath. The reverse side shows the portrait of King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne. Around the portrait is the inscription "CHARLES III" and the country of origin and year of issue "AUSTRALIA 2025". The nominal value "1 DOLLAR" is also inscribed below the portrait.
