Information on Gold Matterhorn 0.5 g PP
At an altitude of 4,478 metres, the Matterhorn is one of the most famous mountains in the world, owing to its shape and history, and a symbol of Switzerland. The summit was first reached on July 14th, 1865 by a seven-man expedition team led by Briton Edward Whymper. Four of the seven climbers perished during the descent. The Polished Plate (PP) finish is particularly sought after by collectors and is one of the most elaborate coin production methods. This exclusive gold coin is encapsulated and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The worldwide circulation of this gold coin is just 5,000 copies.
