The design of the silver coin
The obverse depicts a koala semi-upright, surrounded by eucalyptus and looking to the left. The word “KOALA” can also be seen on the left-hand side. Parallel to the bottom of the koala is an engraving of the weight of “1 oz” and fineness of “9999 Ag”.
The reverse shows a memorial portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Complementing the portrait are the years of her reign (“1952–2022”) and the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA 2024”. The face value of “5 DOLLARS” adorns the coin at the bottom.
