Information about the 10 franc Gold Vreneli
The most famous of Swiss gold coins is the Vreneli. The 10 franc Vreneli is the little sister to the 20 franc Vreneli.
The reverse of the coin shows the portrait of Helvetia in the foreground of a mountain massif; the year of issue, currency and face value can be found on the obverse of the coin. The Gold Vreneli was minted from 1897 to 1949 with different motifs and in different editions. As a result, there can be considerable price differences between different years of issue. The reverse of the 10 franc Vreneli shows the Swiss cross in an aureole at the top. At the centre is the face value of CHF 10 and the year. The lower section shows branches with Alpine rose and gentian flowers. At the bottom is the mint mark B. The edges of the 10 franc Vreneli are reeded.
